Advisories for 2023 season will end on April 1st.

Avalanche forecasts or "advisories" will be posted Tuesday, Friday and Saturday until April 1st. After that date a "general information" statement will be posted with updates being made during episodes of critical weather changes. A big thanks to all of our supporters and staff for making it happen this season.

New Observations Form

Our Observations platform is changing for the 2022/23 Winter Season! Our new observations form is easier to submit new observations as well as view current observations in a list or map view. Observations can now be sorted by forecast zone, red flags, and avalanches observed. It's easy to include your own photos or views alongside your observation as well.

Observations prior to the changeover on December 16, 2022 are still available here.

Transceiver Sundays at Schweitzer

Schweitzer ski patrol is encouraging and offering weekly free "Transceiver Sundays" (clock tower at 10:00 a.m.) to all interested public with two permanent practice areas and one more difficult challenge that is on a less regular basis. All they ask is that the public covers up their tracks and if practicing digging techniques, please replace your divot. This is a great way to keep on your A game for those venturing out of bounds.
