Previous high winds, past avalanche in steep gully on N aspect at ~6000-5500ft. 

Surface hoar in valley bottom 4000ft, not present up higher on open slopes.

Near and above 5000ft - Snow surface is some wind drifted snow and widespread breakable ice crust ~.5cm thick
